Effective immediately: Authorization changes for urgent care

Effective immediately, there is no longer any authorization requirement for urgent care services. If medically appropriate, please direct Meritage members to a contracted After Hours Clinic (AHC) or Urgent Care Center (UCC) rather than the Emergency Room. Decreasing inappropriate ED utilization is a 2019 goal for our network. Continue to make every effort to see your assigned patients during office hours in your clinics. Please review the grid of contracted AHCs and UCCs by geography and health plan found in this document.
